These are the rules for using motive. By signing in, you agree to them. They're short on purpose.

You promise

You're at least 13 years old.
You're you (real name, real photo, real account).
You won't use motive to harass, threaten, scam, dox, harm, or impersonate anyone.
You won't use motive as a dating or hookup app. It's for friends. Romantic or sexual pressure on other users is grounds for immediate removal.
When you join an event, you intend to actually show up, or you'll cancel in advance.
Events you create are real, in public or semi-public locations, legal, and safe.

We promise

To take reports seriously and remove users who break these rules.
To keep your private profile data (phone, Instagram) visible only to your accepted friends.
To not sell your data or run ads.

Real-world risk

motive helps you find activities to attend with strangers. It's on you to use common sense: meet in public places, tell a friend where you're going, leave if anything feels off. We're not responsible for what happens at events. Use the report and block features if you encounter someone who shouldn't be here.

Account termination

We can remove accounts that violate these rules. You can delete your account anytime by emailing us.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product grows. We'll let you know in-app when we do.
